A13 will be closed for the weekend - other local road closures imposed to stop rat run traffic

By Neil Speight 1st Oct 2021

RESIDENTS and motorists are reminded that the A13 will be closed in both directions between the A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) and A128 (Orsett) junctions from 9pm this evening (Friday, 1 October) and over the weekend.

The closure remains until 5am on Monday, 4 October with traffic diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road instead.

To minimise the impact on residential areas, Thurrock Council has asked road users not to divert through nearby towns and villages, with non-local traffic asked to use the A127 instead to avoid causing congestion.

In addition to the closure of the A13, Stifford Clays Road will be closed eastbound between the A1012 Stifford Interchange and Crammavill Street in order to prevent non-local road users and HGVs using Stifford Clays, Orsett and Horndon as 'short cuts' to avoid the road closure.
