A TEAM team effort between neighbourhood policing officers, DP World security, and some clever tech, resulted in the location and recovery of an abandoned quad bike hidden deep within the marshland near Stanford-le-Hope.

Security at nearby DP World London Gateway port first spotted the bike and alerted police, who said: "With the help of their drone and the location tool 'what3words', officers navigated a 25-minute walk through challenging terrain to reach the concealed vehicle.

"Although checks didn't reveal the owner, it's suspected to be stolen and the bike was safely recovered. It's now off private land where it had reportedly been used without permission.

"What3words divides the world into 3m x 3m squares, each with a unique three-word address—making it easy to share exact locations, even in remote areas.

"It helps emergency services find locations faster."
