THE next round of applications for primary school places in Thurrock opens on Monday, 2 November 2020.

Parents and carers of children who were born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 will be able to apply for a primary school place from this date. The deadline for this round of applications is 11.59pm on Friday, 15 January 2021.

Cllr Andrew Jefferies, Cabinet Member for Education, said: "This November we welcome parents and carers to submit applications for their children who are due to start primary school next Autumn.

"The application process begins at the end of this year to allow parents to consider their preferences and apply in plenty of time of the January 2021 closing date.

"Whilst we recognise the uncertain circumstances of the ongoing pandemic, we must and will continue to prepare for our children's education to provide them with the best opportunities for the future."
