Air ambulance rushed man to hospital after electric scooter crash near IKEA

POLICE have revealed why the Essex and Herts air ambulance was called into action with a dramatic landing and take-off from the IKEA car park in West Thurrock yesterday.,

A statement from the Essex force says: "We were called shortly after 1.30pm on Saturday, 21 February with reports of a single vehicle collision involving an electric scooter.

"Officers arrived and a man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance in a life threatening condition. Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information are asked to get in contact with us.

There is no update on the man's condition at present.
