AN appeal had gone out for borough residents to help bring a smile to the faces of disadvantaged children this Easter.

Thurrock Foodbank is asking if residents could donate an Easter egg or even arrange an egg collection among family, friends and colleagues.

A statement from Foodbank business co-ordinator Sandra Sawle says: "It's been a rough year for many and we would love to be able to give Easter eggs to all the children of families using our foodbank this Easter.

"Usually Easter eggs need to be with us two weeks before Easter Sunday (4 April) pr ;left in one of our collection points in order for us to get them top the children in time."

You can find out more information about Thurrock Foodbank, which is based on Chase Road in Corringham, via this link.
