Alleged spies for Russia arrested in Grays

THREE people in Grays have been arrested on suspicion of spying on behalf of Russia.
The arrests were carried out yesterday (Thursday, 17 September) by the Met Police and all three were taken to a police station in London. They have since been released on bail.
A 41-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested at an address in the town the force said. A 46-year-old man was arrested at a separate address in the same area.
Cdr Dominic Murphy, head of the Met's Counter Terrorism Command, said the force had seen an increasing number of people in the UK being recruited by foreign intelligence services.
