Another gloomy night for the Rocks

East Thurrock United 2, Coggeshall Town 6
DESPITE taking an early lead East Thurrock's grip on the Essex Senior Cup, which they won when it was last contested to a conclusion three seasons ago, ended with a heavy defeat to lower league opposition this evening (Tuesday, 18 January).
Visitors Coggeshall, currently in mid-table in the Isthmian North, bounced back from an early setback to dominate the match against their Isthmian Premier hosts at a foggy Rookery Hill.
Rocks took the lead early in the match through Ollie Spooner's 16th minute header but one time Aveley hero Alex Teniola put the Seedgrowers level on the half hour and by half time they were 3-1 ahead with goals from Isaac Skubich and Callum Harrison.
Kudos Oyenuga extended the lead 12 minutes into the second half and though Rocks got one back on 72 minutes with a smart finish from Sam Collins, who had earlier hit the woodwork when an attempted clearance cannoned off him, the scoring was rounded off by goals from Lewis Byrne-Hewitt and Jermaine Francis on 77 and 89 minutes respectively.
Rocks have now conceded 16 goals in their last four matches and will certainly face Saturday's league trip to promotion-chasing Bishops Stortford with some trepidation
