THURROCK's number of confirmed coronavirus cases has edged up again, but only by a relatively small amount for the second success day.

After yesterday's rise of cases, which was just three, the latest figure has added just six cases taking the Thurrock tally to 195.

Nationally the number of cases of people who have been tested and have been found to be positive for Covid-19 is recorded at 93,873. 12,107 deaths associated with coronavirus have been record in hospital, but the overall death toll may be significantly higher as the figure does not include those deaths that occurred in care homes.

Meanwhile in Thurrock, despite announcing by social media on Saturday evening that it was cancelling all routine maintenance visits to social housing across the borough, in its first news briefing for several days at 5.52pm today (Tuesday, 14 April) the council stated: "There are no further update or changes to Thurrock Council services to report today."

Anyone who has issues regarding maintenance issues at a Thurrock Council dwelling is being guided towards the council's website information page which can be accessed by clicking here.
