Arrest and hospital visit follows late night crash

POLICE and the ambulance service attended the scene of a crash involving one vehicle on the outskirts of Corringham last night that led to an injured person being arrested before being taken to hospital.

The incident happened around midnight close to the junction of the B1420 with Southend Road.

A statement from Essex Police says: "Officers were alerted to a vehicle being driven suspiciously on Southend Road near to the Five Bells Interchange shortly before midnight on 24 November.

"Officers went to follow the vehicle and later found it had been in a single vehicle collision. One person was arrested and taken to hospital."

East of England Ambulance Service confirmed it had attended the incident.
