ARRESTS have followed a late-night incident yesterday (Saturday, 5 September) at a borough hotel where four people were injured, some with stab wounds.

Three people were arrested at the Farm Cottage Hotel, an isolated small budget-priced hotel with a wedding marquee on Stifford Clays Road between Orsett and North Stifford.

Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for witness or others with information to come forward.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to a hotel in Stifford Clays Road shortly before midnight to reports a number of people had received stab wounds at what we believe was an event there.

"Officers attended and identified four people with injuries. Three people were arrested.

"A 21 year-old man from Enfield has been arrested on suspicion of GBH without intent. All three are currently in custody.

"We believe there were around 100 people at the hotel at the time and we need anyone with information about what happened to get in touch.

The venue is located on Stifford Clays Road, a long narrow dead end road which is accessed from North Stifford.
