Arrest made as people are spotted fleeing truck parked at Lakeside

A POLICE investigation followed after a number of people were spotted fleeing from the back of a lorry parked at Lakeside in West Thurrock today.

The incident happened just after lunctime today (Tuesday, 10 January) in the car park of the Tesco superstore.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a number of people seen running from the trailer of a lorry near to the Tesco on the Lakeside Retail Park at around 12.25pm.

"Officers attended and one person has been arrested.
