Arrests follow town street robbery

POLICE Officers in Thurrock have secured charges against three people as part of an investigation into a robbery in Chadwell St Mary.

It was reported a man in his 20s had been robbed and had jewellery and a watch taken in Godman Road at around 10.45pm on Saturday, 9 August.

Response officers attended the incident and arrested four people – two men and two women.

The men and one of the women have now been charged and appeared in court.

Harry Ottaway, 21, of Kelvin Road, Tilbury, Rofhane Lewis, 31, of Dunley Drive, New Addington in Croydon, and 28 year-old Laina Mills, of Albermarle Close, Grays, have all ben charged with robbery.

Ottaway has also been charged with possession of cocaine.

They all appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on 11 August and are next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 8 September.

A 27 year-old woman has been released on bail until 19 October.
