AN ambulance service worker has been inspired by the bravery of a colleague who recently passed away to create and auction a unique piece of artwork that will be sold to raise funds for Havens Hospice.

Thurrock Nub News recently reported on fundraising events inspired by the passing of Darren Baglietto and told his story.

Now his colleague Mel Newing has created a piece of art.

She says: "It would be awesome if we could add a really nice extra chunk to the amount already raised. 100 per cent of the highest bid will be donated to the Havens. And postage costs will will be covered by me."

The auction will run for 24 hours from midnight on Sunday, 31 July to midnight, 1 August.

The action can be found and followed via this link.
