Firefighters tackled scrubland blaze to north of Blackshots

SEVERAL teams of firefighters are tackling a field fire to the north of Blackshots this evening (Sunday, 24 July).
It is the second significant blaze borough crews have had to deal with over the weekend.
Yesterday crews from Grays were praised after putting out a blaze that threatened homes in West Thurrock.
This evening's blaze was on scrubland in Blackshots, on land adjacent to Long Lane and close to the A13.
It was tackled by three teams of firefighters from Orsett and Grays stations who had completed their work and left the scene just before 11pm.
