Art fun enjoyed during a celebration in Tilbury at Amazon
AMAZON'S fulfilment centre in Tilbury celebrated World Art Day by hosting an arts and crafts event for employees' children.
World Art Dayis an annual international celebration of the fine arts. The celebration helps to reinforce the links between artistic creations and society, encouraging greater awareness of the diversity of artistic expressions and how culture can pave the way for inclusive and equitable education.
Speaking on the afternoon of fun, Ruzanna Sargsyan, General Manager of Amazon in Tilbury, said: "It was great to have members of the Amazon team and their children on site at the weekend to celebrate World Art Day. The power of art and creativity really does bring people together and we hope everyone enjoyed getting involved to mark the occasion."
Ngobile Dube, an employee at Amazon who attended the celebrations, added: "My daughter Mackenzie had a fantastic time on Saturday – she loved meeting the other kids, getting stuck into the craft activities and getting to see where Dad works. Thank you to everyone for organising a great event to mark World Art Day."
Mirela Niculescu, an employee and keen artist, added: "I'm so pleased to see creativity celebrated among the Amazon team. Art is a fantastic way to showcase diversity and encourage collaboration, and I'm so pleased that the children all enjoyed the afternoon.
"I had the opportunity last year to create a mural on site at the Tilbury fulfilment centre, inspired by diversity, the local community and the environment, and I'll always welcome an occasion to share my passion for art with my colleagues and their families."
