TWENTY excited students from Arthur Bugler Primary School are preparing to swap the playground for the streets of London as they take on the final stretch of the world's most famous marathon route.

On Saturday, 25 April 2026, the budding athletes will represent their school in the prestigious TCS Mini London Marathon!

The opportunity sparked a wave of "marathon mania" across the school, with over 150 eager applicants wishing for a spot on the starting line.

To ensure fairness, a school-wide ballot was conducted, ultimately naming the 'Lucky 20' who will lace up their trainers for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The selected students will now get to experience the ultimate finish-line thrill, darting through the heart of London and sprinting past Buckingham Palace to cross the official finish line along The Mall.

Mrs Lucy Cordell, a teacher from Arthur Bugler Primary who is responsible for this opportunity said,: " Our children are buzzing, and frankly, so am I!

"Seeing 20 of our students on this legendary route is going to be absolutely life-changing for them.

"Marathon day is the ultimate 'superpower' generator. It's the one day that proves you are capable of so much more than you ever imagined.

"Having run the TCS London Marathon last year, I know exactly how electric the experience is, and I can't wait to lead this incredible group past the Palace to claim their medals, and a spot in Arthur Bugler Primary's history books!"

The "Lucky 20" aren't just chasing medals; they are racing to raise vital funds for the Arthur Bugler Primary's PTA. These donations will directly fund new opportunities and experiences for every single pupil at the school.

They are currently looking for local businesses to provide sponsorship donations and in exchange will proudly display their logos on the official running t-shirts and promotional banners, giving your brand fantastic visibility throughout this high-profile event.
