A THURROCK youngster is spending his Saturday cycling the region's roads to help fund his pending International Scout Jamboree trip to Australia next year.

Leo Reynolds is a 16-year-old young leader at 2nd Stanford Scout Group.

He is cycling more than 30 miles today (Saturday, 1 June) to raise money for his trip, which will cost £4,250.

He set off from Horndon on the Hill Scout Hall at 9am and made his way to Thriftwood Scout Campsite, Brentwood.

The next leg will take him to Belchamps Scout Campsite in Hockley.

Leo is an exemplary student at St Cleres school and a young leader in his spare time. He is currently sitting his GCSEs and hopes to go to college in September.
