A LORRY has overturned in Tilbury on the roundabout at the junction of the A1089 (Dock Approach Road) with Dock Road, St Andrews Road (to the port) and Thurrock Park Way, which is the entry point to the industrial estate and ASDA.

Emergency services are on scene (12 noon) but it is likely the roundabout will remain closed for some time while the HGV is recovered.

A fire service spokesperson said: "We were called to this but we weren't needed in the end. Nobody was trapped thankfully."

A statement from Essex Police said: "We had a call at around 7.05am that a lorry had overturned.

"We cleared debris by 7.25am and then left it with Highways to deal with it."
