DETAILS have been released of the next Bata Heritage Open day to be held later this year.

The iconic memories of the Bata organisation and its long history in East Tilbury are kept alive by local volunteers who run the Bata Heritage Centre.

They have organised an open day for Saturday, 23 April which will offer the opportunity for guided tours of the factory and estate at a cost of £3 a head.

There will also be a talk about the history of the village and Bata in the library, starting at 2.30pm.
