Bike seized in latest rogue rider clampdown

By Neil Speight 16th Feb 2022

OFFICERS from Thurrock's Community Policing Team (CPT) were out and about yesterday to tackle nuisance vehicle incidents across the district.

A statement from Essex police says: "Officers paid attention to known hotspot locations and dealt with incidents reported, including at Princess Margaret Avenue, East Tilbury where a vehicle was seized after being seen ridden on and off road.

"If you are seen driving or riding in an anti-social manner, or causing annoyance to the local community, Essex Police has power under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 to seize and remove your vehicle or place a warning (on the first occasion) on both you and your vehicle which lasts for 12 months.

"This warning would apply to you and any vehicle you drive or ride, as well as your vehicle and anyone who drives or rides it throughout that 12-month period.
