THE latest in a success of road closures over recent days has brought significant traffic congestion and delays across the west of Thurrock.

A lorry fire at around 11am today ( Tuesday, 26 May) sparked severe delays on the M25 and a lane closure at the QEII Bridge - with queues tailing back at least five miles to junction 29.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service were called out to deal with the HGV blaze as lanes on the crossing were closed.

Roads leading to the M25 and crossing in Thurrock were extremely congested.
