RESDIENTS and shoppers in South Ockendon have helped boost a cancer charity by supporting a stall in the town's marketplace.

It was set up by Wendy Curtis and others from the South Ockendon Centre, which is currently closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Wendy says: "Due to the centre not being open I asked if I could have a stall in the Ockendon market. H.W. Wilson and their staff offered their help to enable Macmillan Charity being given a total amount of £1,070.

"A big thanks must be given to the community and helpers who made this such a big success. Many large donations were also given which made this year one of best for this very needy charity. Thank you everyone."
