Borough business delivering service for those in need

By Neil Speight   26th Mar 2020

A THURROCK private hire firm says it is doing its best to try and link up with those helping the elderly and vulnerable during the coronavirus crisis.

Grays-based Thameside Taxis is offering its services to help people get food and, in particular has created links with Lakeside's Tesco Extra to ensure local people can get Click and Collect slots - and the firm will collect.

Setting it up has not been without some difficult as a spokesperson for Thameside said: "We are working with Tesco Extra Lakeside to get more slots daily just they are short of staff picking and packing for home shopping," but the service got underway today (Thursday, 26 March).

In addition drivers are also available to make runs to people with hot meals or other urgently needed supplies.

You can contact Thameside by phone at 01375 371654.
