Borough cafe goes viral as the love for coffee is shared

A SOCIAL-media reviewer on the TikTok platform has brought the attention of tens of thousands of coffee lovers to a small but welcoming borough café.
The Hope Coffee Shop on High Street in Stanford-le-Hope has been deluged with new customers after reviews by Maddie Cordell went viral. (https://www.tiktok.com/search?q=%40maddiicordell&t=1748170487544).
"We don't take things too seriously! As we say everyday - 'It's just coffee and milk'."
Maddie (@maddiicordell) said how much she loves their "really good coffees" and "best matchas" gaining approaching 100,000 views
In recent days queues have been forming down the street with customers wanting to sample the many and varied drinks on offer and the wide range of locally-made cakes and sweet treats.
The café was launched by Cole Palmer and Beverley Clayton in January 2023, as reported on Thurrock Nub News, and quickly became a local focal point.
It provided a welcome destination for dog lovers and its support for the local community and people passing through was highlighted when Blackburn man Jordan Kealy dropped in with his dog Shyla in January, last year.
Every month a new charity or cause is nominated by the coffee shop and all tips and donations are given to it.
Beverley says: "Genuinely, we are as astounded as anyone that we're currently gaining attention. However, we are a little family run dog-friendly coffee shop who love what we do."
Thurrock Nub News popped along today to check out just what's happening and why the Hope Coffee Shop is so special:
