Borough drive to promote fostering

THUIRROCK Council is planning a big drive later this month to promote fostering in the borough.

For Foster Care Fortnight 2023, from 15 May to 28 May, the authority is inviting anyone with an interest in fostering to join officers at events across the borough.

You can drop-in and speak to fostering team members at:

  • Monday 15 May, 10am to 2pm – Sainsbury's, Chafford Hundred
  • Monday 15 May, 4pm to 7pm – Chafford Hundred railway station
  • Tuesday 16 May, 10am to 3pm – John Lewis, Bluewater shopping centre
  • Wednesday 17 May, 10am to 1pm – Tilbury Library, Tilbury
  • Wednesday 17 May, 10am to 2pm – Impulse Leisure Belhus Park, South Ockendon
  • Wednesday 17 May, 3pm to 7pm – Impulse Leisure Blackshots, Grays
  • Thursday 18 May, 10am to 2pm – Morrisons, Grays
  • Thursday 18 May, 10:30am to 3pm – Waitrose, Billericay
  • Friday 19 May, 7am to 10am – Pitsea railway station
  • Saturday 20 May, 8:30am to 10am – Thurrock Park Run, Orsett Heath
  • Saturday 20 May, 11am to 3pm – Sainsbury's, Chafford Hundred
  • Monday 22 May, 10am to 2pm – Asda, Tilbury
  • Tuesday 23 May, 7am to 10am – Fenchurch Street railway station, London
  • Wednesday 24 May, 9am to 9pm – Lakeside shopping centre, West Thurrock
  • Thursday 25 May, 10am to 3pm – John Lewis, Chelmsford
  • Friday 26 May, 10am to 2pm – Morrisons, Grays

You're also welcome to join staff for a full face-to-face information session and presentation:

  • Tuesday 23 May, 1pm to 3pm – Town Hall, High Street, Grays (Civic Offices)

Whether you're an experienced foster carer or interested in fostering for the first time, you can find out more at one of the online events using Microsoft Teams.

 After a short presentation you'll have a chance to speak with foster carers and team members. A link will be sent when you register by email to say which date you'd like to attend:

  • Thursday 18 May, 6pm to 8pm
  • Monday 5 June, 10am to midday
