Borough opera company set to perform at Thameside

The Thames Opera Company, a self-supporting choir, are putting on a concert on Friday, 23 May, in the Thameside Theatre, Grays.
The company was formerly the Royal Opera House choir, founded in 2011, and renowned for its high standards, performing in such places as the Royal Opera House, Milton Court, Union Chapel, the Southbank Centre and other prestigious venues.
Members of the company were drawn from a very diverse range of people from all walks of life, from complete novices to experienced performers.

Many members had never seen or heard opera before joining, let alone singing it.
In 2020 because of funding cuts caused by the Covid pandemic, the Royal Opera House withdrew their funding, and Thames Opera Company was born in its place.
The event at the Thameside will feature the company and special guests in a performance starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from the Thameside Box Office on 0345 300 5264 or online via this link.
