Boy suffered wound in Stanford assault by gang

POLICE have now given details of an incident in Stanford-le-Hope yesterday in which a teenager was injured.

Police say: "We were called to reports of a teenager was assaulted by a group of people in Butts Lane, Stanford-le-Hope at around 4.35pm on Thursday, 17 December.

"It was reported the victim sustained a wound to his side but his injury is not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

"Our enquiries are ongoing.

"If you have any information about the incident please call us on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/206351/20 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

An area of the green adjacent to Maple Park estate was cordoned off while police investigate but the cordon was removed later in the evening.
