POLICE and ambulance teams rushed to Butts Lane in Stanford-le-Hope this evening (Thursday, 17 December) after reports of a disturbance between groups of young people around 6pm.

Early speculation was that at least one person was injured. Witnesses say a boy was seen laying on the ground before being treated by ambulance teams.

An area on the green adjacent to Maple Park and opposite the junction with Prospect Avenue was sealed off with tape and police officers remained on the scene for some time.

Later in the evening the tapes were removed and officers left.

Essex Police have been asked for a comment and we will update as soon as possible.
