Brazen park riders are condemned

By Neil Speight 23rd Mar 2022

THE contempt which some young people hold their community and local facilities in a park has been condemned by residents in Corringham after a youth was captured on camera.

After months of complaints about the state of Corringham Town Park, the council has recently begun to repair dangerous pathways in a bid to make it a safer place for local residents.

However, the park continued to be plagued by a minority of young pople who carry out acts of vandalism on park euipment and also ride unlicended bikes dangerous across it.

In the latest incident one young rider is seen 'pulling wheelies' across newly laid tarmac, damaging it as well as putting nearby residents in the park in fear.

Residents, who have roundly criticised the rogue youngsters, have not just bemoaned the latest incident but also the lack of policing in the town centre and park, where such instances are reported to be commonplace.

Anyone who can identify the rider or has information is asked to contact police by calling 101.
