AN incident at the QEII bridge Dartford Crossing caused significant congestion across the whole of west Thurrock early this morning (Wednesday, 4 May).

At 6.30 it was reported that traffic was queing back on all approach roads, with lengthy queues on the M25 southbound and on the A13 .

One motorist reported that it took more than 30 minutes to travel from the Treacle Mine roundabout in Grays and there are long delays getting out of the Lakeside area.

The cause of the problem is reported to be a broken down vehicle. Any updates will follow.
