RESIDENTS in East Tilbury and possibly further afield are being asked if they would like to contribute to the future of Gobions Park in the village.

The public open space contains playing fields, play equipment and a skate park and is managed locally by a group of volunteers, with the support of Thurrock Council.

At a recent annual meeting of the Friends of Gobions Park is was agreed to try and further improve the facility – but it is recognised that it will need the efforts of more local people.

A statement from the Friends says: "We are seeking volunteers to take Gobions Park to the next level.

"Almost from the ground up we have done anything ourselves and now seeking community minded persons to join us. We have achieved our pre covid goals and want to involve all on future goals."

Anyone interested in joining the Friends can check out their Facebook page or email [email protected].
