BROWN bin collections will resume again in Thurrock next week, starting on Monday (7 June).

Collections were suspended because of the recent strike action and though refuse collectors returned to work a couple of weeks ago their first priority was clearing up the backlog of green and blue bins.

However, Thurrock Council has now declared brown bin collections (garden waste) will resume. The bins will be collected on the same day as your blue and green (or grey) bin on a two weekly basis.

You can check the day that you bin will be collected via this link which will show the scheduling for your street.

A council statement says: "Thank you for your support."
