Cadets know their drill

MEMBERS of a Thurrock cadet group have been named winners of a prestigious competition.

Thurrock Sea Cadets (TS Dragon) recently took part in the London Eastern District Drill and Piping Competition is an annual event, held this year at Carver Barracks.

It consists of Individual and Team Pipers and then Unarmed Drill, Armed Drill, Colour Party and for the first time in four years a Continuity Drill. Continuity Drill is drill movements done to military music.

After weeks of training, Thurrock Sea Cadets won the District Continuity Drill and will be representing the District at the Area Competition in March.

The team consisted of 8 cadets aged 12 to 17.

Petty Officer Cadet Naomi was also presented the London Eastern District Ambassador trophy and she is also the Lord Lieutenant Cadet.

TS Dragon are currently recruiting cadets, aged ten to 18. They parade at the TRAAC Building, Tilbury, on Mondays and Thursdays from 7.15pm to 9.30pm.
