Man left with burns after garage blaze is tackled by firefighters

A MAN suffered burns after a garage caught fire in Corringham on Sunday evening.

Firefighting crews from Corrringham and Basildon were called to a property in Elmstead Close at 6.15pm after the alarm was raised.

On arrival, crews reported that a garage, and a car inside it, was completely alight.

Crews extinguished the fire by 7.36pm.

A man suffered burns and was left in the care of the Ambulance Service after receiving first aid from firefighters.

An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
