RESIDENTS in Thurrock have been asked to share their experiences during the coronavirus lockdown – so they can be placed in a time capsules for future generations.

The project is being run by the Grays-based Creative Blast Company, which is based at the Thameside Complex. Founded in 2009 Creative Blast is a performance arts academy and is undertaking this project after receiving funding from Thurrock CVS's VSDF Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund.

Reflecting on lockdown the company's director Daryl Branch said: "This is such an unprecedented moment in history and we have seen so many people share creativity whilst social distancing. It's important to document this to show that what has kept us apart over the last few months has also brought us together and that the need for arts in Thurrock has never been greater".

Creative Blast will curate a Digital Creative Time Capsule from the memories shared by people in the borough. They care calling on residents to "send us your videos, photos, recordings, writing – anything that shows how creative you have been!

"From the stories and items that we collect for the time capsule we are creating a community poem to be recorded at home by local people.

"We will also create an exhibition to share with the community when it's safe to do so."

Residents are invited to send videos and images to [email protected] or via its Facebook page.
