Call to firms to support borough Foodbank

By Nub News Reporter 9th Sep 2025

THURROCK Foodbank is seeking help from local companies as it prepares for the harvest season and increased demand in the need for support for local families who are struggling to put food on the table.

The Corringham-based charity says: "This September and October, we're inviting businesses across the community to join our Harvest Appeal by encouraging their staff to donate just one tin.

"It may seem like a small gesture, but together it adds up to something remarkable.

"For example, if a workplace has 100 employees and each person gives one tin, that's 100 meals' worth of support for local people in need.

"Your team's generosity could make a real difference in ensuring that no one in Thurrock goes hungry this autumn.

"We would be delighted to support you with collection boxes and any resources you may need to make donating simple and easy.

"Thank you for considering joining us in this effort. Together, we can make harvest a season of hope for everyone in our community."

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Business Relations and Referrals Manager Kate Collier via email at [email protected]
