CONSERVATION groups and wildlife organisations have thrown their weight behind the campaign to oppose a new quarry in East Thurrock.

Strong objections have been posted from Essex Wildlife Trust & Buglife (The Invertebrate Conservation Trust) and RSPB Love Nature who have registered their opposition to the extraction site close to Linford which was originally exclusively reported by Thurrock Nub News.

Since plans for the quarry were published local residents have recorded their objection by the hundreds.

The campaign is being Co-ordinated by local groups supported by ward councillors, including borough mayor Terry Piccolo who could end up chairing a debate on the proposal at full council.

Residents can comment via the red button below.

One of the lead campaigners is Ian Clifford who says: "It's important we register as much opposition as possible.

"Objections can also be placed thurrock Council's planning service which can be accessed via their website (https://www.thurrock.gov.uk/search-planning-records/planning-records-online ) and searching the plans using this reference 19/01709/FUL.
