Car tyres stabbed in seemingly random series of attacks in residential area

POLICE are investigating an incident in Stanford-le-Hope where a masked person attacked a number of cars, stabbing their tyres.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday (10 March) when vehicles parked a number of roads, including Wharf Road, were targeted between 3.30 and 4.15am.

CCTV captured an attack on one car when the person repeatedly stabbed a tyre before moving on.

A statement from police says: "Essex Police have been investigating reports of criminal damage in Stanford-le-Hope in the early hours of Sunday morning.

"It was reported that tyres had been slashed on vehicles in a number of roads, including Wharf Road, between 3.30am and 4.15am.

"Initial investigations and reviews of CCTV footage have been completed.

"We would ask anyone who has any additional footage, including dashcam or doorbell, to get in touch.

"Please quote ref number 42/38470/24.
