A VEHCILE was used to run over a man at least twice in a violent incident that started with a fight in a Grays pub.

Police have now given details of what happened inside and outside of the Theobalds Arms in Grays last night (Friday, 5 June) when a large number of officers and the ambulance service were called to the unsavory incident.

A statement says: "We are investigating after a man was injured during an incident in Argent Street, Grays, at about 9.40pm last night.

"It was reported a fight had broken out between a number of men. The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was then struck by a vehicle a number of times before he was assaulted while on the ground.

"The victim sustained injuries to his head and leg which required hospital treatment.

"The vehicle was then driven from the scene.

"No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.

"If anyone has information on the incident but has not yet spoken to us, we would encourage them to do so by calling 101 and quoting incident 1319 of June 4.

"You can also submit a report online via this link where you can use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm.

Information can also be given to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
