POLICE in Thurrock have managed to recover a number of stolen bikes and cars.

On Thursday 1 August, officers from the division's Community Policing Team went off in search of a stolen vehicle, following a tracker activation.

The stolen vehicle from Basildon, a Toyota Rav4 was located in Chadwell St Mary. The vehicle was seized and recovered for forensic examination to take place.

Whilst waiting for recovery, officers managed to locate another stolen vehicle nearby. This vehicle, a Citroen, had previously been stolen from a burglary in February this year.

This vehicle was also seized and recovered for forensic examination to take place!

The day before, during patrols under the Op Sculptor programme created to tackle vehicle crime, officers were in Tilbury.

They conducted patrols through Hobart Road, described by the force as 'a known hotspot for anti-social behaviour and nuisance vehicle issues'.

While there officers located two mopeds. Checks conducted revealed them to have been stolen from the Grays area.

The vehicles were seized and recovered.
