A THURROCK councillor and former mayor is putting her best foot forward for charity – aiming to raise funds for the Friends of Treetops School, a charity that raises funds for projects and resources at Treetops Learning Community in Grays.

Grays Thurrock ward councillor Cathy Kent is no stranger to running, a member of the local park run group she has previously taken part in some distance events – most recently on Sunday, 1 September in London's Big Half Marathon to support the fundraising and awareness day for the Thurrock-based AOFAC Foundation.

On Sunday, 13 October she will be taking part in the Oxford Half Marathon. If you would like to support her, you can do so by her JustGiving page, available via this link
