Chadwell St Mary to switch constituency

RESIDENTS in Chadwell St Mary look likely to be voting as part of the South Basildon and East Thurrock constituency at the next general election following the conclusion of a Parliamentary Boundary Commission review. 

For all other purposes, the Chadwell St Mary ward will remain part of Thurrock and take part in Thurrock Council elections. 

No other Thurrock wards are affected by the recommendations.

The report will now go to Parliament where the Government must prepare a draft order to implement the new constituencies for the whole UK. 

Once the Privy Council approves the order, the new constituencies will be used at the next general election following that date (any by-election in the meantime will continue to use the existing constituency.
