A SOUTH Essex hospice charity has places remaining for the popular Royal Parks Half Marathon event taking place in the capital this October.

Havens Hospices has charity places remaining for the 13.1 mile route due to take place on Sunday, 10 October across four of London's Royal Parks - Hyde Park, Green Park, St James' Park and Kensington Gardens.

By joining 'Team Havens,' runners will be supporting the charity's free palliative nursing and supportive care to children, young people, adults across Essex. The charity must raise more than £81,000 per week to provide its specialist care across its three hospice services: Little Havens, Fair Havens and The J's.

Judy Grocott, Voluntary Income Manager at Havens Hospices says: "By joining 'Team Havens' for this prestigious running event you will be championing our frontline hospice care within your local community.

"Our hospice care only exists because of the support and generosity of the community including those who sign up to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon. We will be there to support you all the way from registration to the finish line – Together, we're 'Making every day count'."

To be part of 'Team Havens' the charity asks participants to pledge to raising a minimum of £250 for Havens Hospices which includes the entry fee. To register click here.
