VOLUNTEERS and guests enjoyed another afternoon tea event this week, organised by Thurrock branch of the Re-engage charity which supports elderly, lonely and vulnerable people in the borough.
Members of Re-engage Thurrock were treated to tea at the offices of Balfour Beatty where they enjoyed sandwiches and cakes, served by the staff who work there.
Group co-ordinator Maggie Whitlock said: "We would like to extend a very big thank you to Lauren and her new apprentice Brooke who organised this for us.
"Pass the parcel was a big hit and we enjoyed a very entertaining game of bingo.
"Once again a huge thank you to all our volunteers as we could not do this without you."

Regional organiser Loraine Coleman added: "A very big thank you to the staff at Balfour Beatty for hosting such a wonderful tea party for our guests.
"Special thanks to Lauren and Brooke for organising such a thoughtful and memorable afternoon. From the delicious food to the fun of pass the parcel and bingo, it really was a perfect day.
"It's lovely to see so many happy faces in the photographs – so many special memories were made.
"A heartfelt thank you also to our amazing volunteers for driving and supporting our guests. These events simply wouldn't be possible without you. Thank you so much Maggie for organising it."
