Chequered flag for go-kart and leisure complex in West Thurrock
By Nub News Reporter 7th Sep 2026
THURROCK Council officers have give the green light for a new leisure development in the borough that will include an indoor go-kart track.
In April Thurrock Nub News reported on the application by Battlegames Limited for the facility in West Thurrock which will see the conversion of a former industrial unit for the drift karting track, inflatable zones, trampoline area and a crazy golf course. Plans also include a café, bar, briefing rooms, party room, reception area and accessible entrances.
Now officers have waved the chequered flag at the proposal and work on the conversion is expected to start shortly.
The news may go a little way to consoling karting fans who were disappointed by news that the outdoor Lakeside karting track is closing later this month.
