Chopper joined police on the ground but dangerous rider escaped justice

By Nub News Reporter 7th May 2025

A HELICOPTER joined police cars and officers on foot in what ulitmately proved to be a fruitless search for a rogue biker in Stanford-le-Hope yesterday.

Residents were alerted to the drama being played out by a number of cars with blue lights on and sirens blaring and, for around 15 minutes, a police helicopter circled low over the town centre.

However, the rider got away.

A police statement says: "Officers engaged in a pursuit of a motorbike seen being ridden dangerous in Stanford-le-Hope High Street shortly before 2.20pm on Tuesday, 6 May.

"Resources, including the National Police Air Service, were involved however the motorbike was not located."
