THURROCK Council planning officers have rejected an application for four new detached dwellings in the green belt in a borough village.

Refusing the application for the homes at Sunnyside, Inglefield Road, Fobbing, officers say the proposal represents an unsustainable form of development which would have an adverse impact on the green belt for which there are no very special circumstances to justify the proposal.

They add: "The loss of habitat and lack of sufficient control over biodiversity net gain to secure it is also given significant weight.

How the homes would sit in the existing landscape.

"While it will boost the supply of housing in the Borough the development does not conform to the golden rules required by the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework). In conclusion, officers consider that the provision of housing does not carry significant weight to outweigh the harms arising."

The full council report can be read here, while the applicants' design and support statement for the site - which is isolated and secluded, can be read here.
