CAFE owner and community stalwart Chris Martin has expressed his thanks and paid tribute to everyone who made a recent fundraiser at Bombers in Orsett a huge success

The cafe and Fatties Barbecue raised £1,400 each for the Orsett Hospital Chemotherapy Unit and UK Homes for Heroes at an event on Sunday (26 July).

Chris said: "From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who came along today, grabbed a coffee, enjoyed Fattie's barbecue, bought a raffle ticket, donated, volunteered, or simply helped spread the word.

"We are absolutely blown away by your generosity. Thanks to every single one of you, we raised an incredible £1,400 for the Orsett Chemo Unit and £1,400 for UK Homes for Heroes – a phenomenal £2,800 in total! We genuinely couldn't have done it without you.

"A huge thank you to Kate and the entire Bombers team for all your hard work, dedication and support. Days like this simply wouldn't happen without such an amazing team working behind the scenes.

"A very special shout-out and thank you to Donna and Jodie from the Orsett Chemo Unit, and of course to the amazing Ricky from UK Homes for Heroes. It was fantastic to have you all with us and to be raising money for two causes that mean so much.

"And a massive thank you also to Fattie's BBQ for teaming up with us, everyone who donated prizes, and every single volunteer who gave up their time to help make this such a huge success.

"The day wasn't just about raising money. It was about bringing people together, raising awareness, supporting those going through cancer treatment, recognising our veterans, and showing what can be achieved when a community comes together for the right reasons.

"The best bit? We've already started talking about and planning our next event.

" For now though, we're signing off feeling incredibly proud of the whole team, the awareness we've raised, and the fantastic amount we've raised collectively – all whilst having a great time along the way.

"Thank you all once again for your amazing support. We can't wait to see you all again soon."
