THE newly-appointed School Council from Arthur Bugler Primary School enjoyed a trip to the heart of the borough's civic life this week when they met Thurrock Mayor Sue Little at the Civic Offices in Grays.

During the visit, the children got to find out what life was like being Mayor, visit the Council Chamber and take part in a live debate to help them decide their Charity of the Year.

Headteacher at Arthur Bugler Primary School, Richard Turner, said: "This visit was a great opportunity for our newly appointed councillors to experience.

"As a school, we are dedicated to providing our children with opportunities that enrich their learning and show them life beyond a classroom.

"We send our thanks to Madam Mayor Sue Little for hosting such a memorable and worthwhile experience for our children.

"We are certain that more exciting news will soon follow from Arthur Bugler Primary's School Council."
