Club encouraging young people to speak out and debate issues

THE Rotary Club of Grays Thurrock will once again be organising its 'Youth Speaks – A Debate' competition later this year.

A spokesperson for the club said: "In today's climate of mobile phones and texting, spoken communication is increasingly under scrutiny.

"Many young people have fewer opportunities to develop confidence in verbal communication, and we hope this competition will help encourage and strengthen those skills.

"Feedback from teachers indicates that the event continues to be valued and supported."
